Life, Death & Bialys: A Father/Son Baking Story Misdemeanor Man Mysteries

(Don't worry, I'll never give your email address to anyone, and will only use it to send you info about my projects.)

Cases I've handled with the brilliant and attractive lawyers Dennis Riordan, Donald Horgan, and Harold Rosenthal:

The San Francisco dog mauling case: We represent Marjorie Knoller, who was originally convicted of murder after her dog fatally attacked a woman in her apartment building in San Francisco. We successfully got her offense reduced to a manslaughter. The case was covered nationally, and for about 30 minutes my face was on the CNN, NYTimes, and Yahoo News internet sites. My father saw me on television in a small town in Ireland, which he said was really weird. The case is presently on appeal.

The Gambino Family Prosecution: This was the case in which Sammy "the bull" Gravano switched sides and testified for the government. It is also the case in which the now deceased John Gotti was finally convicted. We represented a third defendant in the case, Frank LoCascio who was allegedly Gotti's second-in-command. That case, too, remains on appeal.

The Repressed Memory Murder case: At the time this was one of the most talked about criminal cases in the United States. My client, George Franklin, was accused by his daughter of having killed her best friend when she was eight years old. Franklin's daughter claimed to have repressed the memory for twenty years. It was the first and only murder case ever tried on a repressed memory theory. The case was the subject of a TV movie and two true crime books.

The Mitchell Brothers Murder: We represented Jim Mitchell in the appeal from his conviction for killing his brother, Artie. The case was the subject of a book and a TV movie. The Mitchell Brothers are famous for having produced one of the first feature- length pornographic films, and for running an enormously popular strip club in San Francisco.

The Boneyard Killer: We represented an elderly woman who was convicted of killing nine men in her boarding house in Sacramento California and burying them in her back yard.

The Billionaire Boys Club Case: We represented Ben Dosti, who was part of a group of young Beverly Hills men who reportedly kidnapped an Iranian business man for the purpose of extorting money from him. The case received enormous media attention in California in the 1980s, and was the subject of a TV movie.
